Presentation

Help

Presentation configures how an Item is displayed on screen. The configuration options are categorized by Design (the look and feel), Annotation Support (the support of additional annotations) and Content (the display of content related to the Item).

You can customize the presentation of an Item by clicking on the "Change its appearance" button under the Item Actions menu.

At the top of the Presentation screen, there are four buttons (Theme, Banner, Logo and Thumbnail) used for uploading custom conent:

Theme
The Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) used to display the Item. CSS is used to control the presentation of the HTML. Using the links specified on the Presentation page, Members can download either a simple or detailed theme. The themes can be modified as required and uploaded to the system for custom presentation of the page.
Banner
The banner which appears at the top left hand corner of the page. By default, the system banner is displayed. A new banner can be uploaded in GIF format.
Logo
The logo which appears as the heading for a page. By default, a system logo the same as the Items Icon property is displayed. A new icon can be uploaded in GIF format.
Thumbnail
The thumbnail (smaller icon and preview image) which is used for displaying the item, this is displayed next to the item on the Items parent page. By default, a system thumbnail the same as the Items Icon property is displayed, A new thumbnail can be uploaded in GIF format.

Once uploaded, each of these custom items can be displayed by setting the Use theme/banner/logo option of the Design category to On.

Each of the following options include two dropdowns used to specify the settings. The first drop down contains a Default setting plus a list of settings specific to each of the options (described below). If the Default setting is selected, the application default setting for the option is used (or in the case where an ancestor of the Item has the cascading turned on, the setting for the ancestor is used). The second dropdown contains a list of fixed settings for the cascading type: No Cascade, Cascade All and Cascade descendants. No Cascade only applies the setting to this Item, Cascade All applies the setting to this Item and all of its descendants and Cascade Descendants only applies the setting to desceding items (it does not apply the setting to this Item).

Design

Navigation Menu
The left hand navigation menu type: expander, flyout, basic.
View
The view into the contents: rich, large, thumbnail, list, details.
Use theme
The pages CSS. You must upload a theme in order for this to work: On, Off.
Use banner
The top left banner. You must upload a banner in order for this to work: On, Off.
Use logo
The logo heading. You must upload a banner in order for this to work: On, Off. If a logo has been uploaded and this option is set to On, the uploaded logo overrides the system default or the uploaded Thumbnail icon.
Use PDF Template
The PDF Template which can convert entries to PDF documents. You must upload a PDF Template in order for this to work.
Streaming
MP3 and WMP files can be streamed.

Annotations

Annotations enable Members to add additional annotations to any type of Item, the annotations include Files, Polls, Topics and Tasks.

Supports File Annotations
Whether the Item supports File Annotations: On or Off. When turned on an additional button is displayed to add File Annotations.
Supports Poll Annotations
Whether the Item supports Poll Annotations: On or Off. When turned on an additional button is displayed to add Poll Annotations.
Supports Topic Annotations
Whether the Item supports Topic Annotations: On or Off. When turned on an additional button is displayed to add Topic Annotations.
Supports Task Annotations
Whether the Item supports Task Annotations: On or Off. When turned on an additional button is displayed to add Task Annotations.

Content

Content enables Members to specify what Item related content is displayed on the page. All of these options are configured by a On or Off setting.

Navigation
Display the vertical navigation. This appears to the left of the page area.
Icon
Display the main icon. This appears to the left of the Heading in the page header section.
Heading
Display the heading at the top. This appears to the right of the Icon in the page header section.
Summary
Display the description. This appears beneath the page header section.
Content
Display the main content. This appears beneath the Summary or page Description.
File Preview
Display the preview text for files.
Children
Display the contents box containing the child items. This appears beneath the Content.
Trail
Display the hierarchy of links. This appears above the page title bar, it shows the Member the position of the Item in the hierarchy and allows Members to quickly select any one of these ancestor Items.
Permissions
Display the current user permissions. This appears just beneath the Heading.
Credits
Display the Status and Who owns the page. This displays when the Item was last modified and who by, when it was created, who it is owned by and the full URL. It appears in the footer section of the page.
RSS Icon
Display the RSS icon. When the Item has a RSS Channel assigned to it, this option controls whether or not the RSS icon is displayed. The RSS icon is displayed in the top right corner of the page header section.

Help
You are viewing the contents of a "Page". Pages contain HTML or text. Click "Edit Details" to edit the page. To create a sub-section on the page, click "Create Sub-Section". The HTML editor allows you to specify font types and sizes, add emotions and select text and background colors. You can also add layers, change tracking, print and dynamically resize text boxes.
