Direct Access Sharing allows you to share items on Sosius with non-registered members.
Setting up a direct access share
1. From a page, click on the Share button in the toolbar, or select Options -> Share this item with other.
2. Click on Direct Access.
You can create a direct access share and distribute the link to members that are not registered on the system (entering email addresses in the invite form will send an email with a link to the item).
Note that the share link should be kept private and distributed to users that you trust as it gives anyone access to this content until such a time the direct share is deleted or it expires.
Managing direct access default share settings
A Manager can additionally set the default direct share settings for any content below a given item.
1. From a page, click on the Share button in the toolbar, or select Options -> Share this item with other.
2. Click on Manage Existing Permissions.
3. Click on Direct Access Settings in the toolbar.
There are options that a manager can grant to members with the given privileges: Owner, Participant (edit permission), Observer (view permissions).
When granted those members will be able to set up direct access shares on items beneath the node where the manager set up the permissions (until Stop Inherit permissions is turned on).
These members will then see a Share button in the toolbar which will take them through to the Direct Access sharing page.
The Number of days until link expires is added to the date at which point a share is created. If not specified, those granted permissions can set the date on the share page.
Delete content when link expires does delete the item which is shared and any items beneath it. Those granted permissions cannot set this, it is only controlled by the Manager.
Managers can override both of these settings from the standard Direct Access share page.
