Is there a way to for a user to assign a task to themselves. We added a lot of tasks to a project, but when users go into to assign the task, they can't assign it to themselves as they are not in the list.
Also, I was wondering if there is a way for them to do this without editing item or for me to as a manager to quickly assign a task to a user. I saw the 'quick task response', but it's not really making a response to do an assign.

We've added the Assign to me link on the Task Edit form - this will be updated on the live servers in the next day or so. In the mean time, you can simply enter in the username of the member in the assigned field.
There is no way to re-assign a task without either editing the task or creating a task response. Task responses are there basically to track changes over the life of the task, re-assigning the task would be an acceptable reason for adding a task response.
To avoid any of these quirks going forwards, you can ensure that the tasks are assigned to the correct members when they are initially created.
