How can I use sosius as project management software? Do you have any help documentation related to this subject?

Thanks.

Hi Gabriela,

We currently do not have any help documentation specific to an overview on project management.

Typically what you would do is the following:
1. Invite your project team members into Sosius so they are part of your Network.
2. Create a Group for your project. When creating a group, select the option to create a folder for the group - this will be your main project workspace. Add project team members from your Network to the Group.
3. In your project workspace, create a Calendar to hold events and create a Project to hold tasks.
4. Create events and tasks as required.
5. Set up your project workspace by adding any additional folders, documents and other items as required.
6. Go to the group dashboard and add any additional widgets such as Tasks and Events.

Depending on the complexity of the required permissions, you could create multiple Groups for the project and assign permissions to groups or individual members on items in your project workspace (navigate to an item and select "Share this item with others" from the Options menu).

If you have any specific questions, please let me know.

Kind regards,
Michael

Hi team,

I love the clean interface, but I too am looking for more features within a Project template but can't seem to find them;

  1. Ability to import Action Items
  2. A traffic light identifier (Red, Amber, Green)
  3. The ability to turn off the add item boxes at the bottom of the screen; the real estate this takes up is unneccessary (I'd be happy just clicking on Add Task if I want add a task.
  4. Identifying task owner AND team (the later doesn't seem possible)

Hi Andrew,

Thanks for your comments. Over the past couple of weeks we have been working on improvements to enhance project management on Sosius. Next week we'll be releasing an update that includes functionality such as assigning tasks to multiple users, task dependencies, task hours and an improved UI. All of these features should make a significant improvement to the existing task/project management system.

In regards to your points:

1. I assume you mean importing tasks - from what source would you be importing tasks from (e.g. Outlook, a spreadsheet)?

2. The Gannt chart shows a visual view of task statuses:

  Legend
    Open & on time
    Completed on time
    Open & late
    Completed late

The priority of a task is also color coded traffic light style for low/medium/high.

3. This will be addressed by a show/hide button.

4. I'm not 100% sure exactly what you mean by this - could you please clarify with futher detail.

Kind regards,
Michael

Hi Team,

Got a lovely surprise to see you working on my feedback so quickly.  Well done.

In answer to your questions;

1. For Tasks, I'd think it was sufficient for you to support a CSV import, no need to go beyong a defined list of columns in the first instance (the whole UI around mapping incoming field to Sosius field may be overkill).

2. Happy to work within these status indicators, but can they be shown on task list screen.  Team members would be expected to update this flag on a regular basis.

3. Ta

4. For action items, I usually assign a Team leader to oversee the completion of a task and that person has a group of Assigned users he involves in the process.  They all contribute to the completion of the item, but it is the Team leader that I chase if it falls behind schedule.

I hope this helps... let me know.

PS:  I hadn't realised that you'd responded to my post.  Should the default action for responses to items I post be that they are e-mailed out - rather than me having to separately subscribe to that conversation?

PS:  You refer to a Gantt view, but I'm having trouble working out how to see this... can you point me in the right direction?

Hi Andrew,

The Gantt view is available from the controls at the top of a project - there is a drop down containing "Tasks List" and "Gantt Chart".

As per notifications, the member who submits the ticket from the support page automatically has a notification set up for them. As you are not the original submitter of the item, you don't automatically have a notification set. To set notifications, select Options -> Set up notifications.

1. We'll see if something can be included in the future. There would be a little bit of work setting up the csv in the right format, I'd expect it to be quicker using the Quick Add Task unless you have a long list of tasks to import.

2. Take a look once you see the Gantt Chart view. The indicators are automatically updated based on the Status of the task (which is derived from task responses).

4. As mentioned you can now assign multiple users to a task - all of these users are listed on the task view (with links to their profiles).

Kind regards,
Michael
